Concert Review: WHYTRI, Chandler, & Billy Marchiafava @ The Middle East Club

To say I was impressed would be an understatement.

The concert at the Middle East Club, in Cambridge Massachusetts, was an amazing experience. It was a small crowd, I believe as I started to count I saw about 70 attendees but the amount of energy was that of a crowd four times the size; and that was due to the artists.

I went to see Chandler, but was blown away by the two other artists in the show, and spent much of the ride home listening to them, and adding their music to my library.

The show started with rapper, dancer, AND producer, WHYTRI. WHYTRI was one of the show's major highlights. He came out and immediately got the crowd going crazy. He got us involved during his song ‘Real Badmon’, danced throughout his entire set, and recreated the beats to his songs live. When he wrapped up his set I wanted more. I feel like his set left a lot of the crowd feeling the same way.

After a short intermission Chandler was up and the set was everything I wanted. There aren’t a lot of rappers who sound the same live as they do on a produced track; Chandler is one of them. He brought the humor of what you see from social media, had a perfect setlist full of songs that matched the crowd, and out of everyone, had us rapping along the most out of everyone on stage that night. He really had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Billy Marchiafava was the final artist of the night. Charismatic, humble, and incredibly clever. Billy not only produced the best pictures I took that night, but also had some jaw dropping lines. You would think the song was going one way until he pulls out an incredible verse and injects energy into the room. A song about buying merch, and the only artist that sang during the night, Billy is going places. It isn’t a matter of if, but when.

When the night was over I left with a concert that I won’t ever forget, a concert that I wish was longer, and a concert that I believe was a true 10/10. All the performers were on the same level, and I left with more energy then I went in with. Nothing is perfect, but this was as close as it gets. Below I've linked each of their Instagram accounts along with places to find their music.
