In His Words

Good stories get your audience's attention, and the best stories make them stay for the entire ride.

I caught up with Eteis from Maine’s North Creek Collective recently. I was ready to do my routine, ask some questions and get to work. But this time, most of my work was already done for me. The veteran of North Creek gave me almost everything I needed to know in a short time. This is the story of Eteis, in his words.

“I started with an underground group called TrumpTightMuziq… back when Sean Smith was [a big presence]... with Queen City Ent… when Pallaso was one of the biggest artists in Maine, aside from Spose.

Then [I] went to college for Audio Engineering at NEScom. Around then I met Joey* and my best friend Javi Marzella*. [I] dropped out of school but stayed in music and started working on a lot of great projects.”

That might seem like a pretty simple start, but there was more. Eteis faced some adversity, he lost his license, but he brushed it off, becoming a chef in Bar Harbor, Maine. He went on to say “My music was second for a little while”, but when opportunity came calling he took it.

“Then I went to California to meet Javi, [I] met a producer from Macedonia. [I went to Europe] and after coming back, the boys (North Creek) wanted to start a collective. Being the vet, I assumed a larger role”

When the collective got going Eteis got to work, organizing their first vlog*, first podcast interview with Alexa Pothier*, and recording their first demos in his home studio. It’s a story that has only just begun, and one that should keep getting better as time goes on.

When he finished telling me that I wasn’t fully satisfied. It’s a great story and one I loved hearing, but I had to poke and prod. I asked Eteis if there was anything coming up, and he gave me a little teaser saying:

“Yeah, a merch collab with Noah Demeis*, singles with each member of North Creek, we’re going to be directing our first music video, and a collab project with one of the North Creek members.”

I also asked what he wanted to leave behind when all was said and done. The answers can range from simple, all the way to grandiose; Eteis kept things simple.

“I want to leave behind a body of work that’ll feed my family for generations, I want to leave behind a legacy.”

Eteis is an artist who knows where he wants to go and exactly how to get there. He’s accomplished a lot in a short time, and from the sounds of it, he is about to accomplish a lot more. Make sure to keep an eye out for everything Eteis has coming up. Below I have linked the socials for some of the people mentioned and the first episode of the North Creek Volg.
